Hey all,
I've been 6 days now in Cairns and it has been crazy so far! I immediately booked a diving trip.
The dives itself were AMAZING( you can see the pics on fb).
I did 6 dives in total, including one nightdive. We dived at the Great Barrier Reef, one of the World wonders.
I did the dives with an american guy and 2 English girls. Had heaps of fun :p I saw my first big shark up close! THey are AWESOME !! And I was not afraid at all :-), for the rest we saw a lot of nemo fishes, turtles, we even saw wales when we were sailing to our diving destination! Furthermore, we saw a lionfish, wich are rare and very poisonous. I met also some Canadians on the boat and have been hanging out with em ever since.
In cairns everything is about partying, so that is what we do. We go out with a group of 7 ppl, 2 canadians, 4 germans and one American and me. We go out in places like Woodshed and Gilligans. It reminds me a bit of going out when I was 19 or something. (Jan, Levien, Tracy, Sean, Luca, Lara), Jason Its a miracle that i remember those names, because you meet soo many people, that you just simply forget their names. I mostly just call people by their country. Nice and easy :-p
One of the best nights we had was actually last night( thursday 13 sept). We all signed up to a beerpong contest! good thing that u didnt have to drink beer as you played for a tap at the bar. In total a 18-20 teams entered the contest. Amazingly, our teams, Manwhores United (me and Sean), Frankfurters ( DE girls) and Shitkickers (DE and USA). We all made it to the third round wich is a victory on itself coz almost nobody of us played beerpong before (except Jason from USA, where beerpong is a national sport). But the manwhores united made it to the semi finals, where we bravely stood against the experienced Team America. We firmly held our ground and fought bravely for each cup, but we were no match for the annihilating force and expertise of the Americans. Our team was happy with bronze and third place.
Today im going to the rainforest with the Canadians, Tracey and Sean. Hoping to take some good pics!
